I work one day a week at the Trailor Park behind
the desk, and I began to really see al the interesting people that
visit or work or live in this Park (it is now a Resort). I have
painted their portraits and wrote some of their story using a calendar
format to make these ' other side of the desk ' people, calendar
pinups. This is the Trailor Park Tabloid. Some of the portraits
you are seeing here are from the Tabloid.
Portraits
may be painted on rice paper in ink or with some colour if desired.
You may sit for a portrait. The time you will be sitting is from
1/2 to 2 hours. The lesser time, of course, for a smaller painting.
You may also have your portrait painted from a photo. At least 2
good quality photos will be helpful to understand you better.
Occasionally I will draw portraits with marker pen. These are gestures.
Let me know if you are interested in that.
Portraits
may also be painted on watercolour paper with watercolour and acrillic.
These paintings are more realistic. I paint from a good photo with
these as you may not want to sit for the hours it will take to paint
these.
Paintings priced at
16" X 20" $100 plus shipping and tax
11"X X 14' $50 plus shipping and tax
marker pen gestures are 11" X14" $20 plus shipping and
tax
all
portraits are matted in black with a foam core backing and inclosed
in a archival clear folder
This year I am creating my Three Minute Portrait
in marker pen for the Birch Bay Discovery Days Festival. In some
ways a Three Minute Portrait is more of a challenge than one that
can be worked . My idea is to further develop my spontaneity, which
I consider to be a very important aspect of my work. I may also
create The Three Minute portrait at other venues this year, but
I will see how it goes at the Birch Bay Festival.
